Job purpose

In this role you’ll be responsible for translating and managing the quality of the German versions of the Body & Fit channels (website, email marketing, blogs, recipes, product content, social, etc.). 

You have a strong commercial sense and enjoy working with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders to create the best possible experience for our customers. Next to translate all the Content that is being produced inhouse by the Content Team (for Product & Editorial purposes), you will be central to designing and agreeing the tone of voice guidelines for Germany with others in Body &Fit. 

Once these guidelines have been developed you are responsible for ensuring all content/ communication for the German-speaking market aligns with the tone of voice for Body & Fit, while maintaining a sharp eye for SEO and compliance with EU and local regulations. Once content is created you work across teams to test efficacy of copy/ content and recommend changes where needed (e.g. to test and learn on guidelines, tone of voice etc.).

Principal Accountabilities Include (not definitive)

  • Translate Content for Product & Editorial purposes, develop and maintain Language Style Guide, Glossaries, Translation Memories for the German-speaking market
  • Develop & maintain the language assets for Body & Fit content in local market that are on brand, SEO-friendly and compliant with EU and local regulations
  • As part of the Creative Studio, part of the Marketing team, you also work closely with the Country Manager for Germany to develop linguistic strategy for the German-speaking market
  • Copywrite content when required (e.g. email campaigns, banners, etc.)
  • Interact with external translators on a regular basis to set & explain linguistic strategy
  • Translate/transcreate content

Experience & Knowledge

  • Need to have experience working with CAT technology
  • Understanding of SEO and how it impacts web content is required
  • Previous experience working in ecommerce is a big plus
  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry is a plus
  • Interest/experience in the category sports nutrition is desirable

Skills

  • Native speaker German; you need to have a high proficiency in Dutch and English (source language is Dutch in first phase)
  • BA in a relevant field (Language, Communication, Marketing)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time, maintaining clear priorities and keeping stakeholders up to date
  • Ability to build strong  working relationships and work across teams in a collaborative way
  • Ability to keep in mind business needs when making decisions
  • Ability to interact with external translators in a collaborative fashion
  • Proactive in consulting internal stakeholders on the implications of decisions on language
  • Ability to suggest improvements to overall market approach for a given country


Location

We have offices in Amsterdam and Heerenveen. The biggest part of the team sits in Heerenveen, therefore it’s required travel to Heerenveen (6-8 days per month). During the introduction period it will be necessary to spend at least 2 days a week in Heerenveen. After the introduction period, there is more flexibility, like working from our Amsterdam office. 

Please note: To be eligible for this role you need to have a valid working visa/permit to work in the EU.
